Found a recipe on TikTok, in a blog or in your favorite cookbook? MealBuddy turns it into a clean recipe in your library, with ingredients and steps ready to cook. Open the Recipes tab and tap the add button to choose how.
Save from a link
Copy the link to a recipe and paste it into Save from a link. MealBuddy works with recipe websites and with posts from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Pinterest. If a page contains several recipes, you can pick the ones you want to keep.
Share from another app
You don't even need to copy the link. In Instagram, TikTok, your browser or any other app, tap Share and choose MealBuddy. Then pick the list you want to save the recipe to. You can share several links at once, or up to 5 photos.
Scan a photo
Use Scan a photo for a handwritten recipe card, a cookbook page or a printed sheet. Take a picture or choose one from your Gallery. If the recipe runs over several pages, add up to 5 photos to the same import. Your photos stay with the recipe.
Tip: Screenshots work too. Scan one from your gallery to save a recipe you only have as an image.
Describe a recipe
Have an idea, or a family recipe you know by heart? Choose Describe a recipe and tell Buddy about the dish, by typing or with Dictate by voice. Buddy writes the full recipe for you. Recipes written by Buddy are marked as AI generated.
After saving
Every new recipe lands in My recipes, your main recipe book. From there you can edit it, adapt it, add it to your own lists or put its ingredients on your grocery list.
If an import doesn't work, see "Why Didn't My Recipe Import?".
