Your Diet, Allergies and What Buddy Knows

Buddy can fit recipes to the way you eat, but only if you choose to share that with it. You decide, and you can change your mind at any time.

What you can share

When you sign up, MealBuddy asks whether you want to let Buddy know what you eat. If you agree, you can add your diet (for example vegetarian or vegan) and your allergies and intolerances.

This information can say something about your health or your beliefs, for example religious food rules. That's why we ask for your permission first. To answer you, Buddy sends this information to the AI services that power it.

What needs it, and what doesn't

Your recipe library, recipe lists and grocery lists work without sharing anything. Chatting with Buddy, adapting recipes and describing a recipe for Buddy to write need your permission, because Buddy uses your diet to give you answers that fit.

Changing your diet or allergies

Go to Profile > Profile to update your Diet and Allergies & intolerances at any time.

Stopping sharing with Buddy

Go to Profile > Profile and choose Stop sharing with Buddy. This deletes your diet, your allergies, what Buddy remembers about you and your chat with Buddy. Your recipes and grocery lists stay as they are. You can allow sharing again later.

What Buddy remembers

Buddy remembers useful things you mention in the chat. You can see and delete them in Profile > Profile > What Buddy remembers.

Cookies and tracking
